Kay Anderson Carroll

April 21, 1948 — August 3, 2024

Kay Anderson Carroll

It is with love in our hearts that we celebrate the life of a great lady, Kay Anderson Carroll. She passed away August 3, 2024, with her family by her side.

Kay was the glue that has always held us together. She would call and check on each of us often. She was both a second mother and a second grandmother to many. Her niece, Lynnette, once said as a child, “I have two grandmas and a Kay.” Both family and friends will now have another guardian angel to watch over us.

Kay was born April 21, 1948, in Payson, Utah. She was the third daughter of Miles and Maxine Park Anderson. Her sisters, Jolene A. Christensen and Carolin A. Sidwell, welcomed her with love in their hearts from the very beginning. Their little brother, Mike Anderson, then came along and they were a very loving family.

Kay married Douglas Thompson Carroll on May 22, 1982. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on July 5, 1994. Doug and Kay were the loving parents of two precious sons, Brad Carroll and Brace Carroll.

Kay was an amazing grandma to five grandsons and two granddaughters. She loved and adored her grandchildren and they loved and adored their “Grandma Kay”. She was their biggest fan. She would do her best to support them in their many activities and in whatever was going on in their daily lives. They will miss her dearly.

Kay was the perfect example of someone who knew how to serve others. The best example of this was that she mourned with each of you when your loved ones passed away. She learned this from her parents. Because she grew up in a funeral home she learned how to help others that were grieving the loss of a loved one. She helped her dad and her brother, Mike, with the funeral home for many years.

Kay graduated from Juab High School and Hollywood Beauty School. She worked with her mother, Maxine, in the beauty shop at the funeral home. She also did hair for her special lady friends as well as the hair of the dear patrons of the funeral home.

She loved serving in the community in various ways. She helped many years as an election judge when it was time to vote. She worked with the Juab County Fair Queen Contest and other events at the fair for over twenty years. She could be found at the public schools helping wherever she was needed. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother to many fine young men. She helped with charity and educational community programs. We will never know how many crocheted hats she made for school kids, babies at the hospital, grandkids, the young men, the young women, the primary kids, Sub for Santa, Festival of Trees, and any other organizations in need. Kay served in many callings through the years for her LDS ward family. She loved being able to volunteer at our hospital. She said that she inherited a whole new family among the staff and patients at the hospital. Thank you CVMC personnel for the loving care you gave Kay when she really needed you.

Kay is survived by: her son Brad Carroll, his wife Stacy, and their children Kyson, Daxton, Drake, and Addison; her son Brace Carroll, his wife April, and their children Ethan, Chloe, and Dylan; her sister Jolene Christensen and her family; her sister Carolin Sidwell and her family; her brother Mike Anderson and his family; her sister-in-law Linda Carroll; her loving cousins and her many close dear friends, young and old. Yes, we all truly had a Kay!

Kay is preceded in death by: her husband Douglas Carroll; her parents Miles and Maxine Anderson; her parents-in-law Clarence and Beth Carroll; her sisters-in-law Donna Anderson, Diane Carroll, and Marsha Hatch; her brothers-in-law Joe Christensen and Steven Carroll; and other family members.
