Salt Lake City, UT-Karen Smith Mott, 55, returned home to her Heavenly Father due to complications of Covid-19 on August 18, 2021, in Salt Lake City, Utah, with her family by her side.
Karen was born May 31, 1966 to LaMont and Sue Ann Smith in Salt Lake City. She spent her childhood years in California and then moved with her family to Draper, Utah, graduating from Alta High School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Karen married Marion Mott and they were blessed with two amazing children, Hollie and Hunter, along with a beautiful granddaughter, Lucy. They later divorced.
Karen was a wonderful mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She deeply loved Hollie, Hunter and Lucy. They cherished all their time together, especially enjoying the meals and treats she created. Karen was an amazing homemaker and incredible cook, sharing her culinary talents with everyone. She has always lived close to her parents and has loved caring for them as well.
Karen had a vibrant, fun-loving personality. She would light up a room and had a way of making everyone around her happy. She had a special, distinctive laugh, a quick wit, and a great sense of humor. If you heard Karen's laugh, you knew you were in for a great time as she was the life of any party!
Karen was a best friend to many. She would do anything for anyone at any time, always helping those in need. Her friends loved and adored her. She excelled with people and was an excellent customer service manager. She had many opportunities in employment to lead company teams. Her talented skills took care of every customer and co-worker.
Karen is survived by her two children, Hollie and Hunter, her granddaughter, Lucy, her parents, LaMont and Sue Ann Smith all of Draper, Utah, and her sister, Julie (David) Hansen of Herriman, Utah.
A viewing will be held Monday, August 23 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East in Draper, Utah. Funeral services will be held at the Corner Canyon Stake Center on Tuesday, August 24 at 11:00 am, with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am, located at 13366 South 1300 East in Draper, Utah. Interment at Draper City Cemetery.
