Our loving wife, mother, grammy, great grammy, sister, aunty K and friend passed away October 20th, 2016 in her daughters home surrounded by her family after a valiant, dignified battle with leukemia.
Karen was born in Murray, Utah to Samuel Clyde Turner and Birdie Jones. She grew up in Bluffdale, Utah and was the youngest of 4 children. She considered it a great blessing growing up in Bluffdale surrounded by numerous loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Karen graduated from Jordan High School where she met her eternal sweetheart, Garry W. Crump. They were married on September 21, 1962 and sealed for all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple. They spent 54 wonderful years together in Sandy and St. George, Utah. Together they served as ordinance workers in the St. George LDS Temple and as missionaries at the Farmland Reserve Cattle Ranch in the Sand Hills of Nebraska.
Karen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she lived her life in continuous service to her family and others. Karen opened her heart and her home to her family and all that she knew. She taught her family principles of service and compassion and to always serve the Lord.
Every holiday and event were made extra special because she went the extra mile to make it special and memorable. She loved family get togethers and with her family established many great family traditions that will be carried on through her posterity.
Karen enjoyed spending time camping, 4-wheeling, and had a talent for crafting and decorating. She enjoyed sharing these talents with others. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She supported her children and grandchildren in all of their sporting events and activities. She attended Brigham Young University where she remained a lifelong cougars fan and cheerleader. Go Cougars!!
Karen is survived by her husband, Garry, their children Kris (Steve) Cowley, Bluffdale; Lezlie (Mark) Garrison, American Fork; Shane Crump, Pleasant Grove; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with 3 on the way. She is also survived by her brothers, Norman (Barbara) Turner, William (LaWanna) Turner, sisters-in-law, Helen Crump, Pauline Crump, brother-in-law Bob (Rosemary) Crump, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister LaRee (Reed) Anderson, parents-in-law Willard and Dorothy Crump, brothers-in-law Larry Crump, Billy Crump.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at LDS Hospital Leukemia Center for their exceptional and loving care.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the LDS chapel on 14662 South 3200 West, Bluffdale, Utah where viewings will be held Friday, October 28, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and prior to services on Saturday 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Bluffdale Cemetery.
