Karen Greenhalgh Brereton

Karen Greenhalgh Brereton, aged 86, passed away at her home in Midvale on July 21st, 2024. She was born on August 22nd, 1937, in Payson, to Nolan Greenhalgh and Margaret Ottesen. Karen has now reunited with her parents and her sister Colleen on the other side.

She is survived by her sister, Pat, daughter Cindy (Ross), son Scott, and daughter Denise, along with 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Karen dedicated 37 joyful years to a fulfilling career at Albertsons grocery store, cherishing her colleagues and her work. Family gatherings during holidays were a special tradition she treasured. She had a keen interest in celebrities and their lives, especially Michael Jordan and Steph Curry, and she also loved listening to music by Johnny Mathis and Michael Jackson. The color purple held a special place in her heart, even dying her hair purple in her later years. Known for her kind heart and great sense of understanding others, she never wanted much for the material life other than happiness, love, and family. Karen will be deeply missed. Her loving words, "Love you a lot," will forever be remembered, as we continue to hold her dear in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31st from 12:00-1:00 PM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah 84047. A graveside service will follow at Midvale City Cemetery.
