June Fontella Pugmire Gale was born June 4, 1926 in Union (Sandy) Utah to Justin Gerald Pugmire and Clara Lzina Barker Pugmire. She was the youngest of eight children. She married Floyd Calvin Gale on December 8, 1953. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
June is survived by four daughters: Sandra (Tom) Watrous, Marilyn (Jim) Gettings, Diane Anderson, and Patricia Park. She is Grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was devoted to them all.
She attended school in Midvale and Sandy and graduated from Jordan High School in 1944.
June had an artistic nature which was beautifully reflected in her life-long love of flowers and gardening. She loved music and played the piano all her life. She volunteered at the West Jordan Senior Center playing the piano, for many, many years. She was a very accomplished seamstress. In later years she handmade many fleece blankets to donate to charity. She was a "doer" right up to the end.
She had an unwavering love for her Savior and served faithfully throughout her life in many church callings. Her favorite calling was that of an Ordinance Worker in the Jordan River Temple. Her tenacity and sweet spirit will be missed by all who know and love her. We are happy for her next great adventure, and send her with an excerpt from one of her favorite hymns. "Lead thou me on!"
