Julee Jensen

Julee Erskine Jensen was born a twin (Judee) on July 16, 1954 to Everett Earl Erskine and Dorothy Roxie Christenson. She unexpectedly passed away November 3, 2017, peacefully in her sleep at home. Julee was kind, and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After the death of her parents at a very young age, Julee lived with Max and Wanda Bunker, good friends of the family. After a few years, California became her home, where she lived with her Uncle Ralph (Harriet) Erskine. She graduated from Costa Mesa High School in 1972 and attended Orange Coast College. She moved to Salt Lake City to be closer to her family in 1976.

She worked many jobs, eventually starting at Evans and Sutherland. She was valued and gained the respect of her co-workers, many of whom are still very good friends.

Julee met and married a childhood friend, George Robert Jensen in 1991. Through their union, three children were added to Julee's life. Tiffany, Darrell, and Amanda greeted Julee as their stepmom and she provided them with open arms and unconditional love. She embraced their families with her kindness as they grew in number, welcoming eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Julee loved being a wife and sharing their lives together. After six years of marriage, Julee was surprised and delighted to be blessed with a 9-lb. baby boy. Quinn brought so much joy into their lives. She stayed home and devoted herself to his well-being. She spent many hours watching Quinn excel at soccer and many other sports. She went back to work when Quinn started school. She got a job at Fremont Elementary School, which gave her much fulfillment. She loved working with children and enjoyed the success she saw in them as they grew under her direction. She became life-long friends with many of her fellow educators.

Julee braved many health problems in her life: open-heart surgery, skin cancer, breast cancer, infections in her liver, and kidney disease. Obstacles that others may not overcome, she fought through courageously in her effort to stay well so she could be here to celebrate the life she so dearly loved. She left sooner than she planned. She was a few papers away from getting on a liver and kidney transplant list at the University of Utah - a choice she hoped would move her forward into a much healthier life. With the help of many outstanding doctors, she valiantly resisted her body shutting down. She showed by example how to smile in the face of adversity.

Her twin sister and lifelong companion, Judee, passed away unexpectedly just four months ago, leaving a loneliness that often felt unbearable. Through her devoted faith, she knew they would be reunited after death - and so they are.

Julee is survived by her husband, George Robert; son, Quinn; stepchildren: Tiffany (Mark), Darrell, and Amanda (Erik); brother, Earl (Karla); sisters, Vicki (Ed) and Karma (Rick); eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who all love her very much. May a ray of Julee's kindness shine through in each of us.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 8th from 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale. The funeral will be Thursday, November 9th at 12 p.m. at the Midvale 7th Ward, 8350 S. Jackson Street (260 West) with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Gunnison Utah City Cemetery on Friday, November 10th at 1:00 p.m.
