Judy Larae Okada

Judy LaRae (Tueller) Okada, born May 12, 1957 in Murray UT, unexpectedly graduated from this life and gained her own wings September 20, 2020 at University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT, from a brain bleed. She was 63.

Judy was a graduate of Hillcrest High in Midvale UT. Much of her life was spent in jobs that allowed her big heart to shower love and help people heal, working as an EMT in various places, in nursing homes, in the Navy Reserve, and pouring herself into the children who came to the daycare that she owned/operated in Tremonton UT with her daughter Vickie.

Family was everything to Judy.  She would often tell people that her children were her biggest accomplishment in her life. She opened her door and heart to everyone, and had coffee ready if you wanted it. She cared deeply for children and adults who weren't hers biologically. Everyone mattered. She lovingly offered hard advice and a lot of sass.

April 23, 1998, Judy married her soulmate and the love of her life, Danny Ken Okada, in Layton UT.  She would still light up when she saw him, even 22 years later. Together they enjoyed an active life on their farm in Idaho Falls ID, raising alpacas and dogs, spending time with family and friends, and having an occasional adventure. Thanks to social media, she nurtured friendships all over the world.

Judy was reunited with her parents, Kenneth Jacob Tueller and Betty Jane Reid Tueller, brothers Kenneth K Tueller and James Albert Tueller, sister Kathryn Ann Smith, and baby daughter Tiffany LaRae Glende. She is survived by and watches over her sister, Bonnie Newbold (Richard) Hughes, brother Richard Lee (Carol) Tueller, beloved husband Danny Okada, children Brandon (Tamalu) Glende, Tylor (Heidi) Glende, Vickie Sanchez, 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 26 at 11:30 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.)
