Joyce Day

Merle Joyce Brynolf Day "Joyce Day" was born on April 17, 1928, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to Henry Verner and Elizabeth Grace Berdinner Brynolf.  Her family moved to Utah when she was eight years old, and she grew up in Lark. She attended Bingham High School and moved to Draper before her senior year and graduated from Jordan High School. She married James Harmon Day on December 17, 1948, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Joyce was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and a friend to many. Her smile and generous nature touched many throughout her life. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was seventeen years old, and faithfully fulfilled many teaching and leadership callings in Primary, Young Women's, and Relief Society; she especially loved Girls' Camp each year. Joyce and Jimmy lived in Draper, Utah, on a dairy farm for over 50 years before they moved to Nibley, Utah, after retirement. They were members of the Draper Lion's Club and participated in many civic activities.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters: Marjorie Elenore Brynolf, Jean Brynolf Mathews and LaVerne Brynolf Dalton Bringhurst. She is survived by her daughters Rolayne Day, Alpine; Allyson Day Saunders (Bill), Nibley; and Marlene Day, South Jordan; seven grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and numerous cherished extended family members.

A short graveside service will be held on Friday, April 30, at 1 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
