Joy F. Nate

It is with great sadness that the family of Joy Florence Nate announces her passing on Saturday, February 17th, 2018, at the splendid age of 88 years.

Joy was born on December 27th, 1929. She began her life with the hardships of the Great Depression and then later, the challenges of World War II. She was the youngest of 5 children, who preceded her in death: Frank, Don, June and Helen. Her father, Francis Templeton Jacobs died when she was only 11, leaving her mother,

Ruby, to raise Joy by herself as her older brothers were off fighting in the war. Her biggest memory was tap dancing for her father; she loved him dearly and he adored her.

Joy's one great happiness and comfort was her family and her husband. She loved spending holidays with them, baking and visiting; her favorite was Christmas. Her summer solitude was taken up by spending time at her house, at the Wyoming ranch.

Joy will be loving remembered by her husband, Harold, whom she was married for 68 years. They spent most of their later years, together, cruising, the world by ship. She is also survived by her three children: Shelley (John), Randy (Nanette), and Fran (Rachelle). She also leaves behind six beautiful and talented grandchildren: Jared, Codie, Nic, Ben, Brennan and Anna.

With the sadness, we also add gratitude and hope. We will miss her beyond words, but we also know that she will always be with us beyond the veil, and that someday, we will reunite with her again. We all love you mom! Enjoy your journey!

There will be a viewing Thursday, February 22nd at Goff Mortuary, located at 8090 So. State St. in Midvale at 11 am. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm, at the Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 S. Memory Ln., Holladay, Utah. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
