Joseph John Yuhas, 96, passed away peacefully December 3, 2015 in St. George, Utah. He was born October 23, 1919 to Julia Paukovic and John Yuhas in Rankin, Pennsylvania.
He served in WWII in the United States Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant. In 1943, while he was stationed at Camp Kearns, Utah, he met the love of his life, Betty Buhler in Midvale, Utah. They were married December 18, 1944.
He was the father of three children. Joe was a general contractor and built many beautiful homes in Midvale and the Salt Lake Valley. Later he worked for the Utah State Tax Commission. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong member of Mt. View Golf Course, making four "hole-in-ones." As a young man he enjoyed many sports and played semi-pro baseball in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed watching and cheering for BYU, the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Joe married Camille Lundeen in December, 2006. They enjoyed traveling through Utah and the United States. Together they served several LDS service missions in St. George.
Grandpa's generosity was unmatched. He had a heart of gold and always offered a helping hand.
He is survived by his wife, Camille Yuhas, son Bruce (Karla) Yuhas, and daughter, Jeanne Bullock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Yuhas, brother, John Yuhas, sister, Helen Miller, son, John Yuhas and son-in-law Ron Bullock.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah.
