Joseph Dennis Ipson Sr.

Joseph Dennis Ipson Sr. passed from mortality on Sept. 26, 2015. Born on Oct. 29 1933, to Jesse Joseph Ipson and Irma Marinda Bywater in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the oldest of six children. His siblings are Jerry, Bob, Ann, Don and Ray. He was married to Mary Lou Allsop on May 28, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have six children, Den, Sherri, Marilyn, Bill, Lori, and Michael, and fostered Renson Marroquin. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, sister Ann, brothers Don and Ray, along with his children, 24 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Dennis loved sports and was a competitive athlete, especially in tennis, which he played until the end. He provided well for his family by working in sales. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served faithfully in many callings and as a temple ordinance worker. He found great joy in scripture study and sharing the insights and inspiration he discovered in them. His first love is the gospel of Jesus Christ which encompasses eternal family ties. His greatest hopes and desires extend beyond this life of having his family bound together throughout the eternities.

A viewing will be at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, UT, Sept. 30, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, at the LDS church, 586 E. 8400 S., Sandy, UT, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
