Jose "Joe" Antonio Rosa, 81, passed away September 20, 2018 in Midvale, Utah.
Joe was born December 6, 1936 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Francisco Rosa and Emilia Rosario. Married to Alena Ivlue Bowen.
Joe emigrated to Utah from Puerto Rico at the age of 14. After graduating Bingham High School he found the perfect job for him, an engineer at Kennecott Copper Mine and retired in 1985. He loved running the train in the copper mine and made life-long friends there. He met his dear sweet wife, Ivlue, at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City and they were married for 60 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed being with his wife, kids and grandkids. "Grandpa Joe" always loved giving the grandkids "boogie money" every payday. Jose was known for his quick wit. He had the best one liners and made everyone laugh. He enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing and baseball. Jose was a great friend to all that knew him. They could always count on him for a helping hand.
The past few years he has been caring for his beautiful wife, suffering from Alzheimer's dementia. He was so in love with her even after 60 years of marriage. You could always find him at the care center, sitting by her side watching television or just holding her hand.

He is survived by his wife, Alena Ivlue and daughters Alena (Kyle) Taylor and Virginia (Anthony) Maestes; sisters, Carmen Soto, Jenny (Gerald) Gallo and Elisa Cruz.
