Jose Adolfo "Pepe" Garcia Morales, 67, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, returned to his Heavenly Father March 2, 2015 at home surrounded by loving family after a valiant fight with cancer.

He was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on June 14, 1947 to Victor Manuel Garcia Morales and Alicia Rivera Garcia. He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 2, 1966 in Guatemala City. On May 18, 1968 he was sealed for time and all eternity to Margarita Vasquez, in the Los Angeles Temple.

Jose retired in May 2013 from EyeCare for Kids in Midvale, Utah. He enjoyed a long career as a master optician and made many friends along the way. His previous employment included Bausch & Lomb, Cole National, Progressive Eye Care, Standard Optical, Eye Masters and Eyeglass World.

Jose was a faithful member of the LDS church, and served in many positions. In March of 1985 he was called as a sealer to the Jordan River Temple, the 20th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and later to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple upon its opening, serving 30 years. He had a great love of family history and loved to recount family stories and anecdotes. He completed multiple generations of genealogy and accompanying ordinance work for his ancestors. He was an extraordinary man that reached out to everyone and was loved by many. He had a great love for family and shared many happy times with them. He leaves a legacy of love, devotion, and service.

Survived by his wife, Margarita; children, Susanna (Joseph Dewey), Jose Jr. (Kjersten), Victor (Areli) and David (Danielle); brothers, Lionel (Lucy), Arturo (Hilda), Aldo (Leonora); grandchildren, Nik (Lani) (23), Kiara (11), Aiden (7), Shaela (5) Brenan (4), Yahneli (11), Annai (10), Isai (6), Sarai (1), Baby girl in tummy; great grandchildren, Mika (3) and James (1). Preceded by his parents, Victor Manuel and Alicia Morales Garcia; daughter, Vianney Otilia, brother, Glauco and sister, Carola Beltethon.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the ward members of the Glenmoor 7th Ward and Glenmoor 7th Ward Relief Society and the team members of Tender Care Hospice of Bountiful, as well as the countless numbers of friends and family that have offered so much care to our father over the past several months.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Glenmoor 7th Ward, 4147 W. Skye Dr. (9790 S.), South Jordan, Utah. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the church. Interment will follow at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at America First Credit Union.
