John Lynn Brough

John Lynn Brough, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away July 23, 2021. He was born September 24, 1935 in Nephi, Utah to Malon Macfarland and Inez Tervort Brough. He married his sweetheart and love of his life, Diane Hannifin, February 12, 1960 in the Manti, Utah Temple. They were the parents of three children.

Lynn graduated from Juab High School. He served a two-year Spanish American Mission in Texas and New Mexico. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1964 with a BS degree in engineering. He was employed by Sperry-Utah Company, later by the State Road Commission as design engineer, and by a private engineering firm, then worked as the plant engineer at NRP in Nephi, and ended his career as the Facilities Director at Utah Valley State College.

He served 23 years and retired from the Utah National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club.

Lynn was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He demonstrated his commitment by serving diligently in various callings including the High Council and serving with Diane as ordinance worker in the Manti Temple. He had many hobbies and talents including singing, painting and watching and enjoying BYU football and basketball.

He is survived by his children, Chad (Lisa) Brough, Darren (Rachelle) Brough, Lisa (Jeff ) Bowles, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express appreciation and gratitude to Eudene and Gary Anderson and staff of Red Cliffs Assisted Living, Dr. Rosenbeck, and the 7th Ward Bishop and Relief Society.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 28th at 11:00 am at the 7th Ward building (222 S. 100 E.), Nephi, UT. Viewing one hour prior to the services.
