John Lynn Crawford

John Lynn Crawford was born on August 4, 1939 to Charles Niels Crawford and Dora Eileen Augason Crawford. He peacefully passed at home on December 26, 2016.

John grew up in Midvale and was involved in multiple sports during high school. He married Mary Lynn Greenwood (deceased) on October 6, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two children: Jeffrey Lynn Crawford and Julie Lynn (Jeff) Cranney. John married Susan Litster on June 20, 2008 in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.

He served as a young missionary in Sweden from 1959-1962. He earned three master's degrees and he was the first graduate from the Computer Science Department at BYU. He had the opportunity to go back to Sweden to serve a mission in Stockholm with his wife Susan. He and Susan also served a Family and Church History mission. His love and proficient expertise in genealogy blessed the lives of countless people.

Survived by his wife, Susan; his two children; four stepchildren, Tod (Terri) Ferran, Melissa (Dave) Catmull, Mindi (Chet) Faulkner and Michelle (Richard Criddle) Ferran; 7 grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren and two sisters, Marilyn (Reid) Fillmore and Yvonne (Ren) Moss. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary and 2 brothers, Gene and Gail.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Parkway 3rd Ward, 10206 South 3200 West, South Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the same location and from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
