Joel Charles Hansen

Joel Charles Hansen passed away peacefully at home May 2, 2020. He was born October 28, 1953 to Bert and Marlene Hansen.

Joel grew up in Goshen, Utah where he and his brothers spent their days seeing what kind of trouble they could find. He married Carol Boss and together they raised 3 children. Later in life he was fortunate to have 2 more daughters.

Joel spent his entire life working hard to give his family a good life. At a young age he began shearing sheep with his dad and grandpa. He spent time as a miner, a driller and many years at NRP. Joel always believed an honest day's work for an honest day's pay.

Joel enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved hunting, camping and trap shooting. He especially enjoyed all the vacations he took with friends.

Joel was an accomplished woodworker. He took a lot of pride in doing it to perfection. Family and friends will forever cherish being able to have his beautiful work in their home.

Music has always been a big part of the Hansen family. Joel learned at an early age to play the guitar. No family get together was complete without music being played. Joel was a part of a few bands, but mostly enjoyed playing with the Western Round-up Band with his brother Brian, brother-in-law Brent and friend Paul. Many years later, many still remember Western Round-up and the music they played.

Joel is survived by his mother Marlene, daughters Melissa (Mike) Bastian, Jennifer (Travis) Worwood, Bailey Hansen, Madison Hansen and son JayLynn (Julie) Hansen, brother Brian (Kelly) Hansen, sisters Pat (Brent) Palmer, Lisa (Jim) Brereton, 11 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his father Bert, brother Kyle, son Steven and grandson Tanner.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home (94 West 300 North). A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at Goshen City Cemetery.

The family would like to express gratitude to CVMC and especially Dr. Rosenbeck and Julie Ann Parkin for their above and beyond care for our dad.
