Jodie Illingworth

Jodie Linne Eckersley Illingworth departed peacefully from this world Friday, November 16, 2018, surrounded by her family. She bravely fought multiple health challenges, but finally succumbed due to complications of leukemia. Jodie was born on March 10, 1969 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph H. and Janice L. Palmer Eckersley. A beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her mother, her brother, Jeffrey, her son, Christopher Anscomb (Desiree Berry), and her grandson, Ben. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jodie found peace and strength in Jesus Christ as she faced challenges in her life. Undoubtedly, she is enjoying a loving reunion with her beloved father who passed away 17 years ago. Despite her failing health, Jodie was blessed with the opportunity to spend time with her first grandchild, born seven months prior to her passing. Becoming a grandmother was one of her greatest joys.

Jodie showed kindness and concern for others. She did not let people know about her failing health but focused instead on concern for and helping others. She has also been a great support to her mother who lives at the Coventry. She would call her every night and be a friend and a comfort to her. She would also identify her mother's unmet needs and work on getting them supplied.

The family wishes to thank all friends and family members who have helped and loved Jodie throughout her life. Special thanks are extended to the healthcare professionals at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, especially those in the ICU. An extra special thanks is extended to Linda Aune for all she has done for Jodie.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
