Joby James Romano (Mason), age 54, finished his earthly journey on October 22, 2022 in Lakewood, Colorado.
He was born in Salt Lake City on September 11, 1968 to parents Nick and Gloria Memmott Romano and was welcomed by his siblings Stefany and Jarod.
Joby spent his childhood growing up in Levan and attending Juab High School with the class of 1986.
Joby had a huge heart and showed his love for those around him with a smile and a tight hug. He had a quick wit and was good at keeping those around him laughing and feeling loved.
He spent many years doing landscaping and construction. He worked hard and liked to see the final project of the design and hard work complete.
Joby had an entrepreneurial career that earned him several extended stays away from family and friends. During those times he still showed love and kindness to those that surrounded him. He helped them with positive motivation, a daily reminder to keep their chin up, chest out and keep working to be better men in their days ahead. Several of these men have reached out to say what a positive influence he was in their lives and that they are better men today because of their association with him.
Joby married Brandy Chidester. They had 3 children together, Zachary, Skyler and Kellsie. Kellsie gave them their first grandchild Dessie Jean. His children and granddaughter were the light of his life.
He is survived by his mother Gloria Romano of Levan, wife Brandi, children Zachary, Skyler, Kellsie and granddaughter Dessie Jean, all of Salt Lake City, his adopted sister Gabby Gonzales and her family of Lakewood, CO; brothers Jason Romano, Justin Romano; sister Toni Romano Turner, all of Tooele, niece Amberlee Pickering and her children Degan, Paisley and Lyric of Nephi, aunts and uncles Claire and Julie Memmott, Kevin (Chan) and LuJean Memmott of Scipio, UT.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nick Romano; a sister Stefany Pickering; a brother Jarod Trujillo (Mason) and both sets of grandparents.
A public viewing will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, UT. There will be no services per Joby’s request.
