JoAnn O. Bowen of Hoytsville, UT, passed away on August 20, 2021.

JoAnn was born in Henefer, UT, daughter of Joseph William and Retta Ovard. She married Harold M. Bowen on November 30, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized on April 20, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hoytsville 1st Ward and served in many positions. She was in the Primary presidency, organist and chorister for 18 years. She was also organist and chorister in the Relief Society and M.I.A.

She worked as a secretary for the North Summit School District and a Deputy Clerk for Summit County for many years.

She loved music, family, grandchildren, needlepoint and garage sales.

JoAnn is survived by her 4 sons and 1 daughter, Tan H. Bowen (Tammy), Kalispell, Montana, Stanley Joseph Bowen (Chris), Coalville, Utah, Tonya Bowen Keeve, Park City, Utah, Troy Edward Bowen (Jami), Wanship, Utah, Travis Bowen (Lorilee), Coalville, Utah. Also surviving is 1 brother, Brent G. Ovard (Cheryl), Henefer, Utah. She has 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jeanette Vernon and Encompass Home Health. Also, the Elk Meadows staff with a special thanks to Lynne Richmond and Michelle Blood, her caregiver.

Services will be held for the family and close friends. Interment will be at the Hoytsville Cemetery.
