On Mother's Day, May 9th, 2021 our beloved Joan Sperry Taylor was freed from her earthly body and joined her family who have passed.
Joan was one of 13 children born to Gene and Ruth Sperry. She grew up in Nephi but lived most of her adult life in Washington DC, Washington State and the Salt Lake Valley.
She loved to work in the yard, paint furniture and build puzzles. She hated to have pictures taken or a fuss made over her. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. The grandchildren loved going to Grandma Joan's house to do crafts, cook and bake. Joan was independent and always strived to do it her way. She loved to sleep under the stars and the grandchildren remember lots of outdoor sleepovers.
Joan is survived by her 4 children Edward, Scott (Ange), Kelly (Becky) and Heather, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, one brother Jim (Dixie), as well as many nieces, nephew and extended family.
Joan was deeply loved and cherished by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Graveside prayer will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 1 pm at the Nephi City Cemetery, located at: 400 North 400 East, Nephi, UT 84648.
