She "chaired" the Midvale City Harvest days for many years and was named Midvale Woman of the Year and Midvale Citizen of the Year.
Joan loved music; she felt and heard music in everything and everywhere. She was a talented pianist and blessed with the voice of an angel. She even sang with the Utah Opera for a season. Joan loved to sing and taught others to sing; she shared her talent whenever and wherever requested. She leaves many fond memories of family singing around the piano.
Joan had a strong testimony and was a devoted and lifelong member of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Lord and the Midvale 7th Ward where she resided for 53 years. While she served in many callings over the years her favorites were choir director and ward chorister.
Joan married James W. Roberts in May of 1978 and their life together was filled with their growing families, travel and work. After they both retired they served a mission at the Family History Library.
