Joan Evans

Joan Rawson Evans, 81, beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother passed away following a short illness on December 8th, 2021. Joan was born May 7th, 1940, in Union, Utah to William Arthur and Murvel Gregory Rawson. Married Nyle Ben Evans on August 10th,1959. Marriage later solemnized in the SLC Temple on June 6th, 1975. Joan attended Jordan High School, worked in computer operations for Continental Bank, and later owned and operated Affiliated Business Systems selling computer supplies. Joan loved spending time traveling with Nyle. They went on many cruises over the years. Later they joined the WIT motorhome club and made many good friends as they went on several fun and exciting trips together. Joan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she held many callings. Most of all she enjoyed her time ushering with her sisters at the Conference Center and meeting with her sisters for pizza every Wednesday. Joan's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends who will miss her immensely.

Joan is survived by her sons Mark L. (Meloney) and Matthew K. (Susie) Evans, sisters Jennette Bringhurst, Annette Swapp, Marlene Mounteer, Gloria (Wes) Anderson, Roseann (Paul) Chamberlain, Margene (Mark) Goodmansen, Diane (Jeff) Nelson, sisters-in-law Marilyn Rawson and Noreen Millerberg, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Nyle, sister Joyce, brother Dick, sister-in-law Mary Evans, brothers-in-law Howard Swapp, James Mounteer, Owen Evans, Keith Millerberg, granddaughters Jennifer Evans and McKinzy (Evans) Bath.

A viewing will be held Sunday, December 12th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Anderson & Goff Mortuary located in Draper, Utah. A viewing will be held Monday, December 13th at 10:00 am at the Crescent 7th Ward Chapel located at 949 East 10600 South in Sandy, Utah, followed by the funeral services at 11:00. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah.
