Jim Ronald Campbell our dear sweet loving Father, Grandfather, Brother , Uncle, and Son, entered into our Lord’s arms for Eternal rest on March 6, 2025. Jim was born on November 3, 1946 in American Fork, Utah to Nephi and Elaine Campbell. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Martha Campbell, and his children Julie , Brooke (Crystal Becerra), Sherry (Greg Hooten), Jeffrey (Pauli), Amanda (Brett Branch), Denver, and Siovhan (Kazia). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tawsha, Juliann, Devin, Kenyon, Mahalia, Kaiya, Drew, Nate, Carmen & Corey (CJ). He is preceded in death by his amazing parents Nephi and Elaine Campbell, his precious, perfect daughter Tammy Lynn Campbell Bodrero, his cherished grandson Gage Richard Campbell & his beloved Brother Alfred Mel Campbell with whom he shared a deep and cherished bond. Jim also had three loving brothers and two precious sisters, all of whom played a special part in his life. He was blessed with a large extended family, including many cousins, uncles, and aunts who loved him dearly.
Jim’s life was a testament to perseverance, devotion, and an unshakable love for his family. Jim’s journey was marked by hard work, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to those he held dear.
Jim attended American Fork High School and graduated from Orem High School in 1966. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in May of that year. His time in the military instilled in him the discipline and work ethic that would define the rest of his life. But beyond his duty to his nation, Jim’s greatest purpose was his family.
Jim was a devoted husband and a loving father to his eight children. His love for them was boundless, and he worked tirelessly—sometimes holding two, even three jobs at a time—to ensure they never went without. He not only provided for their needs but also taught them the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Through his example, his children learned that no obstacle was too great to overcome.
And Jim was no stranger to obstacles. Throughout his life, he faced several near-death experiences, each one testing his resilience but never breaking his spirit. He endured a horrifying accident when a forklift fell on his legs, breaking both. Rather than succumbing to despair, he fought through agonizing rehabilitation and learned to walk again, refusing to let his circumstances define him. He survived another devastating rollover accident, an event that could have taken his life, yet he pushed forward. As if those trials weren’t enough, Jim was also struck by an SUV while crossing the street—yet even then, he persevered, defying the odds time and time again. His life was one of endurance, and his family believes with certainty that God kept him here for a reason—to love and guide his children for as long as possible.
Jim was more than a provider and protector; he was a father who created cherished memories with his family. He made sure his children experienced the magic of vacations, especially trips to Disneyland, where their laughter filled the air. He gave them Christmases that felt like pure wonder, ensuring that no matter how much he had to sacrifice, the joy on their faces would always be worth it.
Beyond his family, Jim had another great passion—football. He was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos, a loyalty so deep that he named his son Denver in their honor. Whether it was watching games, celebrating victories, or staying faithful through the tough seasons, Jim’s love for his team was unwavering.
Jim also shared an incredibly close bond with his brother, Mel, who preceded him in death. The connection they shared was more than just familial; they were kindred spirits, bound by love and the memories of a lifetime.
Jim’s legacy is one of strength, sacrifice, and love. He was a man who faced adversity with unwavering courage, who worked relentlessly to provide for his family, and who left behind lessons of resilience that will echo for generations to come.
Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He raised his children in the gospel, instilling in them the values and teachings of his faith. His membership in the Church was an important part of his life and influenced how he lived and raised his family. For this he was married to his beautiful wife Martha and sealed to her and their family for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple which Jim believes whole heartedly that he will be with his family forever.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, Utah, 84648.
