Our loving wife and mother, Jill Anderson Pearce, 62, passed away peacefully December 22, 2017 in Murray, UT. She was born on November 20, 1955 in Ogden, UT to Kent Anderson and Eunice Christensen. Jill attended Snow College in Ephraim, UT for a brief time after completing high school in Vernal. Soon after starting college, she met and married her sweetheart, John Pearce, on July 30, 1976 in Sandy, UT. They were set up on a blind date by John's sister, Bonnie Clark, who both worked with Jill at Fashion Fabrics and attended Snow College with her. Together, Jill and John had two children, James and Janene.
Jill worked as a crossing guard for many years and as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. She even had a booth at the Quilted Bear with her handmade goods for a time. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. For many years, she and her husband, John, owned a cabin in Fairview, UT, which they often visited in the summer with their children. In more recent years, she enjoyed music and going to concerts and was a season ticket holder at the Sandy Amphitheater for over ten years.
Jill always had a sweet tooth and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and other loved ones. She also enjoyed playing board and card games with her family. After becoming a Pearce, Rook was often the game of choice. She never missed an event that her children were participating in and attended many long dance competitions and recitals when her daughter, Janene, was growing up. She loved decorating for every holiday and proudly displayed many items she made or painted herself. She enjoyed doing a variety of crafts, scrapbooking, and painting, but most of all she loved to serve others, whether it was taking a meal to someone or lending a listening ear.
Jill was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many callings throughout her life. She most recently served as the head librarian in her ward. She was also a talented pianist and played in various wards throughout her life. She was a dedicated visiting teacher and would often be gone for several hours at a time visiting her sisters. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family as they were her greatest source of joy.
Jill is survived by her husband, John, son, James, daughter, Janene, and siblings: Chris (Lyn) Anderson, Cherie (Mike) Mulhausen, Jody (Matt) Valantine, and Eric (LeAnn) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her father, Kent Anderson, and mother, Eunice Christensen.
