Our beloved Jill Brinkerhoff left this life early on December 3, 2021, after a long battle with liver and kidney failure. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many others.
It would be wrong to say Jill lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to live her life with a positive outlook. When anyone else would have broken, Jill battled and stayed strong. There was no quit in Jill as she continued the fight to the end.
Jill was born April 15, 1953 to Ray and Betty Christensen, in Salt Lake City. She married Brent Brinkerhoff on March 26, 1971 and recently celebrated 50-Years of marriage to the love of her life. Together they have two sons, Troy and Colton, who she adored and loved, they were the light of her life.
Jill was talented in so many aspects of her life. She was a gifted schoolteacher, Hotel Manager and Accountant in the Cayman Islands. Upon returning to Utah she worked as an International Traffic Manager for Specialized Bicycles, where she retired in 2009. However, Jill's real joy in life was family and friends, her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends were her life.
Jill's journey took on many adventures, raising her family and cherishing her time in the Cayman Islands during the 80's. While living in the Caymans she made many loving lifelong friends with whom she stayed in contact throughout her years. Recently in 2019 she was able to build her dream retirement home in Mesquite NV, where she surrounded herself with neighbors, friends, and of course her "Tuesday Night Sisters Group."
Jill loved adventure whether it was bicycling Moab, snowmobiling, teaching aerobics, or most recently taking her RZR Turbo out for a Sunday ride. However Jill's greatest pleasure was entertaining family and friends at the house, relaxing in the back yard with simple conversations, stories, and laughter and touting over her two dogs, Sammi and Safi, her loving companions.
Anyone who knew Jill knew she loved life. A special thanks to the heroes at the Dialysis Center in Mesquite.. Jill loved you very much.
Jill is survived by her husband Brent, her sons Troy and Colton, her brother Ray, and three grandchildren, Maceo, Jett, and Miles, along with many nieces and nephews.
Jill was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ray and Betty Christensen, and her brother Mark.
A memorial service will be held at Anderson & Goff Mortuary (11859 S. 700 E., Draper, UT 84020) on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 12:30 pm in celebration of her life.
There will be a livestream of the funeral on the Anderson & Goff Mortuary Facebook page, which will appear when the service starts.
Her ashes will be returned to Mesquite and scattered later.
