Jerry Twede

Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Gerald W Twede, 78, passed away on January 10, 2016, in Murray, Utah at the Intermountain Medical Center.  He was born on September 12, 1937 in Payson, Utah to Jesse Woodrow and Iona Larsen Twede.  In 1984, he met Lynda, whom he married on August 16, 1986, and they created a happy life together, celebrating over 29 years of marriage.

He loved the outdoors and was a skilled craftsman.  There was no task he couldn't master in his deliberate, meticulous manner with purposeful attention to detail and a keen eye for perfection.  These attributes contributed to his long and successful career as a draftsman at Hill Field Air Force Base, where he participated in the design of many of the aircraft used by the military at that time.  He later worked for Logistics Management Space Division in Los Angeles.  Most recently, he was employed part-time by Pure Water Technologies.

His siblings and children fondly recall the many times they spent together boating on Lake Powell, going on motorcycle and jeep expeditions, and hiking in the desert and mountains of Utah and Arizona.  One of Jerry's most notable accomplishments was the family home in Centerville that he designed and built in 1974.  He had an amazing range of mechanical and electrical skills and was known for being able to fix anything.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda; his daughters Brenda van Gelder, Paula Wood and Kimberly McSharry; his son Michael W Twede; and his stepson Ted Blaney and stepdaughter Janene Siteman; his brother Robert Twede and sister Janeen Whitehouse; and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Jones; and his parents, Jesse Woodrow Twede and Iona Larsen Twede.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Bennion 4th Ward, 6250 South 2200 West, Taylorsville, Utah.
