Jerry Ray Linnarz, 59, of West Jordan, Utah returned to his Father in Heaven on Thursday December 15, 2022, surrounded by family.
Jerry was the sixth of seven children born to Richard and Fern Linnarz on March 14, 1963.
Jerry first met the love of his life, Margie Kay Chapman, when he was just eleven years old. There has never been two people more in love. They were married February 20, 1982, in Riverton, UT.
Together they welcomed a daughter, Amanda Joy Linnarz. Amanda had him wrapped around her finger from the day she was born. They were best friends, spending time either together or on the phone every day.
Jerry love to read and study anything and everything. He loved to laugh and loved to make other people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching movies, and watching sports, especially the Utah Jazz and Denver Broncos. He loved Utah’s beautiful mountains, America, and his precious kitty Simba.
He had an incredible sense of humor and was easy to be around and spend time with.
Jerry epitomized love. Everyone who knew him loved him, and knew he loved them.
His most cherished title was Pop Pop. Earlier this year, Jerry became a grandpa to the most beautiful baby girl, Maisie Ray, after his namesake.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had tremendous faith. He loved his Father in Heaven and his Savior Jesus Christ. He found comfort in knowing he would return to live with them.
A special quote that Jerry had written down that captures his outlook on life, “Gaze upward, look inward, reach outward, and press forward.” – Thomas S. Monson.
Jerry was welcomed into Heaven by: his parents Richard and Fern, older brother Rick, younger brother Brad, niece Sarah, sister-in-law Cheryl and several other loved ones.
He is survived by: his sweetheart Margie, daughter Amanda (Andrew) and granddaughter Maisie. He is also survived by his siblings Dave (Lesa), Debby (Glen Jones), Tim, Lisa (Andre Garner), and his two sisters-in-law Carol and Tricia.
A special thank you to the medical staff at South Mountain Dialysis, IMC ICU, IHC Wound Care, Dr. Andrew Davis Moffat, Dr. Nathan Marshall and countless others for their dedication and compassion as they cared for Jerry.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Monday December 26th at Goff Mortuary, 8090 State Street, Midvale, Utah 84047.
