Jerry Michael Hendricksen

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jerry Hendricksen, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 85 years of age.

Born in Murray, Utah in 1939 to Garland and Vera Hendricksen. Jerry grew up in Draper, and graduated from Jordan High School. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. In 1966, he married Diana Day. He worked for Kennecott Copper Corporation (Rio Tinto) for 35 years in a variety of roles, retiring as a skilled Millwright.

A true outdoorsman, Jerry preferred the company of trees, trout, and tomato plants-unless, of course, there was a cold beer, good friends, round of golf or a decent hand of cards to be had. He found joy in the simple things: watching his garden grow, sitting in the sunshine, floating in his float tube while fishing at Strawberry Reservoir, cheering on the Utah Utes and tying the perfect fly.

He had a soft spot for the neighborhood cats and was always ready to lend a hand- especially if it meant he could bring over extra cucumbers. As a neighbor, he was part handyman, part entertainment committee: passing out jelly beans, staging water fights and good conversation over the fence. Jerry could teach you how to grow anything, make sauerkraut, shoot a flipper and tend bees. His endless curiosity for life led him to learn gold panning, identify mushrooms, plants, and birds, and find clever ways to fix or rig just about anything.

Above all, Jerry loved his people. Fiercely, loyally and with a side of sarcasm. He leaves behind a trail of laughter, hunting gear and stories that will only get more unbelievable with time.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Diana; their three children, Guy (Kathryn) Hendricksen, Amy (Doug) Hogue, and Julie (Cary) Hendricksen-Weatherford; six grandchildren—Laurel, Jordan, Dylan, Ethan, Keenan, and Vera.

Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Warriors Afield Legacy foundation. Mail checks to 6628 West Terrace Wash Lane, West Jordan, Utah 84081. Donate online at www.warriorsafieldlegacyfoundation.com.
