Jerrianne O. Jensen

Jerrianne Orr Jensen, 81, born in Santa Monica, CA on January 7, 1935, died on November 11, 2016. Jerrianne was welcomed on the other side by her dad, Walter K. Orr, her mom, Dorothy Fuller Orr and her granddaughter, Stormi Rae Jensen.

Jerrianne lived in a few states before her family settled down in Salt Lake City when she was a teenager. She was just 17 when she met her lifelong companion, Rayel Jensen. They were married in Coalville, UT on March 23, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 20, 1963. They raised their family of five on Mountain View Drive in Sandy, UT, where they lived for 56 years.

Jerrianne worked at a few jobs in her life, a summer as a carnie, serving curly fries at Chubbies, selling a basement full of Avon and Tupperware to name a few. But her most rewarding job was as a Title I teacher's aide at Sandy Elementary. There, she was able to touch the hearts of many children who needed that bit of extra help learning. She was both a 4H and Boy Scout leader helping the youth in her ward get that extra step up in the world.

She served in many positions in the church, ward missionary and historian to name a couple. Jerriane was nothing else if not courageous. When she got her driver's license in her 30's and her high school diploma in her 40's, there was nothing stopping her from going where she wanted to go and being the person she wanted to be. She enjoyed writing, singing and drawing.

Jerrianne is survived by her husband, Rayel Jensen, brother, Gary Orr (Janice), children, Debby (Randy) Jentzsch, Sheril Bolliger, Kenny Ray (Sharon) Jensen, Alicia (Bob) Lynn, Ronny Jensen, her grandchildren, Jami, Jared, Nate, Kasey (Ryan), Alex (Paige), Jennica (Corben), Misty (Andy), Ciara (Chandler) and great grandchildren, Kenyan, Bryton, Quinton, Riley, Ayden, Nola, Crozly, Oakland and Madden.

The family would like to thank the staff at South Mountain Dialysis, Cascade at Riverwalk and her friends in the Mt. Jordan 2nd Ward for all of their care and support through the years.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Mt. Jordan 2nd Ward, 9331 S. 300 E., Sandy, UT. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
