Jerald Thomas Macklin "Jerry" born October 21st, 1933 to Arnold Macklin and Evelyn Isaacson quietly passed on October 6th 2024 in West Valley City Utah. Jerry had 5 children Rick (Melody), Kathy (Mark), Marci, Kristie (Allan) and Hope (Cody). Jerry also had 10 grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bruce and Dale, grandson Christopher and Daughter in law Melody.
Jerry was a Navy Veteran who honorably served his country in the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Erben and being awarded the National Defense, China Service, Korean Service, and United Nations service medals. Completing his honorable service as a Fire Fighter on April 29th, 1954. Following his service he worked at and retired from the Kennecott Copper Mine after 34 years of employment.
Jerry was immensely proud of his children, loved his family and was equally loved by his children and will forever be Papa to his grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to The Rocky Mountain Hunter Hollow staff who took great care of him and made him comfortable in his final days.
Services are as follows. Viewing Friday, October 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Goff Mortuary located 8090 South State Street in Midvale, viewing Saturday, October 12th from 10:00 to 10:45 am and services following directly after at 11:00 am also at Goff Mortuary. Interment will follow at the Midvale City Cemetery.
