Jed Brewster was our hero. He taught us a lot about living as he battled cancer in the last year. He was an eternal optimist who faced each day expecting the best. He usually found it. He remained happy, hopeful, and very brave during his illness. We will miss his gentle way, his lovely sense of humor, and his trusting nature.
Jed wanted to live, but his faith in God gave him the confidence to die fearlessly. He loved life but was certain there was something even better for him in death.
Jed was born September 16, 1954 to Wayne and Ethel Brewster. His father and mother as well as the love of his life, Pam, preceded him in death-all within the last two years. They are beyond happy that Jed is with them. He is survived by his sisters Claudia O'Brien and Diane Brewster-Norman and his brother-in-laws Liam O'Brien and Michael Norman. Jed is also survived by four stepchildren: Jennifer Young, Brandi Pierce, Cassie Knight, and Darryl Spencer.
To the wonderful professionals at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and to the amazing nurses at Highland Care and Community Nursing Services, we extend our gratitude for the extraordinary care they gave Jed.
Jed died on May 26, 2015. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30 at Goff Mortuary (8090 S. State, Midvale, UT) at 1:00 p.m. The family will welcome friends and family an hour prior to the service.
