Jean Middleton Yates passed away peacefully on July 6, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 28, 1928 to her parents, Eva and Ray Middleton at their home in Midvale, Utah.
She graduated from Jordan High School in 1946 and married Merrill Yates on November 14 of that year. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on October 24, 1962. Jean had many callings in the LDS Church and loved serving others. She retired at age 62 from BALKAMP Auto Parts, where she made many friends. She has been married to her husband, Merrill, for 69 years and she is the "LOVE OF HIS LIFE."
She is survived by her husband, Merrill Yates; daughters, Pauline Merrill (Doug), Connie Helm (Scott); sons, Jay Yates, Steven Yates (Marci), Kevin Yates (Julie); 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandson; sister, Audrey Retallick. Preceded in death by one grandson and two great grandsons; sister, Alleen Gregory; brother, Russell Middleton.
Funeral services celebrating Jean's life will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State, Midvale, Utah. Friends and family are welcome to attend a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
