Jean Rose Wilson (Panton), 96, of Draper, Utah, died Wednesday, March 4, 2022 at Sagewood Assisted Living Center, South Jordan, after a protracted fight with Dementia.
Born on March 17, 1925 in Cottesloe, Western Australia, the daughter of Charles Ernest and Cecilia Lucy Panton. Jean graduated from High School in Australia. During the Second World War she met Warren Charles Wilson while he was in the U.S. Navy aboard submarines stationed in Fremantle. She married him November 15, 1946 in San Francisco, California after the war. Jean and Warren spent their life together raising six children while Warren Charles Wilson served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jean was a housewife and raised six children in the best tradition of a (Navy Wife). Jean was known for her cooking, gardening, and crafting as shown by her many awards and accolades. In 1984 Jean and Warren moved to Castle Valley, Utah to retire. Jean loved the land and her 5 acres in Castle Valley and was an active and faithful member of the Community Church Moab.
Jean Wilson is survived and will be missed by her four sons, Warren (Kathleen) Wilson, Junior, of Tacoma, Washington; Stephen (Carol) Wilson of Taylorsville; Christopher (Kathy) des. Wilson of Preston, Idaho; and Colin (Annette) Wilson of Kent, Washington; two daughters Margaret (Jerry) Bibler of Portland, Oregon; and Kathryn (Craig) Gruendell of Sandy, Utah, sister Pauline Panton, fourteen grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband Warren Charles Wilson, brothers Roy and Ernie and sister Daphanie, and sister in-law Helen.
Funeral service under the direction of Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Thursday, March 10, 2022; viewing 1:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 3:00 pm. Officiated by Pastor Derek Filley. Jean's graveside services will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moab, Utah, Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
