Jc €Œstinger†Wilson

JC "Stinger" Wilson, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Pecos, Texas on February 4th, 1939 to Walter and Ada Wilson. JC was proud of his military service. He joined the Army where he was a paratrooper and was honorably discharged.   He moved to Utah where he met and married Geraldine Carter in 1959 and had two children and was father to 4 more.

Stinger was always the life of the party! He loved people and had a voracious appetite for telling jokes and making people laugh. He had some of the best one liners and people would seek him out to liven things up. He loved playing dominoes and would trash talk with you and about you word for word until you finally give up. He dressed to impress! People talked about his wardrobes before and after he left the building.

He was an entrepreneur who owned night clubs, janitorial shops and shoeshining booths.  He spent the better part of 30 years shining shoes at the Airport. He was known as the "shoeshine king." If you ever had to travel on a plane chances are you knew this icon of a man. He was a member in good standing with the High Marine Lodge #12. JC had a big heart and gave to numerous charities. He was especially fond of the elderly who he unselfishly gave of his time and money.

JC was preceded in death by two daughters Daire and Virginia, his parents and nine siblings. He is survived by his children Reggie, Tony (Troyleen) Shayne, Fawn (Amy), Angie, and Sam. and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Angela Stone, Newton Thompson, and all the people at Canyons Hospice for their loving and caring support they provided to our father. May God continue to bless you!

Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1060 So. State on Tuesday, June 1st at 11:00 am where friends may call 45 minutes earlier.  Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
