Jay Clyde Boggess passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Midvale Utah. He was born March 24, 1939 in Murray, Utah to Clyde Vernon and Merna Mae Dillon Boggess.

Jay was a kind-hearted man who loved his family dearly and his sweetheart Bonnie even more so. He worked at Kennecott Copper Mine for 44 years where he proudly retired from in 2001. He was an active member of the LDS church and served a temple mission for a year and a half in the Jordan River Temple. He also served at the Bishop Store Warehouse for two years.

Jay loved working in his yard where he planted beautiful flowers in the summer and decorated for all of the holidays for his wife and grandkids. He always had his sense of humor going even up to the end of his days. He was always trying to find a way to make everyone around him smile either through his jokes or funny noises. Jay loved having long talks with his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandkids.

Survived by daughters Robyn Mondragon (Scott), Shelly Kemp (Roger), Kerrie Heinecke (Rick), Jill Shipley (Wayne), 9 grandchildren, 16 great grand children, 1 great-great grand child, and brothers Eddie (Linda) and Mike (Jan).

Preceded in death by wife Bonnie, parents, and daughters Jaylynne and Jeannine, and son in law JT Timothy.

On behalf of our family we would like to thank Dr. Hacking, Dr. Tien, Dr. Johnston in St. Marks ICU, and Dr. Chamberlain. Wasatch Dialysis Clinic for the love and care they showed our dad and grandpa. We'd also like to thank Inspirational Hospice Care for helping assist in his final days. A special thank you to Jim and Marian Kelsch for their kind and loving friendship. Lastly, thank you to Floyd Ledford and Bill Maine for their many years of friendship.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Goff Mortuary from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 8090 State St., Midvale, Utah. A short viewing will be held an hour prior to graveside services on December 2, 2017 at Goff Mortuary from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend the graveside services at Memorial Estates at 2:30 pm located at 3115 Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

Jay loved his wife Bonnie and took care of her for many years until her passing. He is now reunited with his beloved sweetheart once again.
