Janet Showell Tillotson

Janet Showell Tillotson Janet "Jan" passed away at her home on July 28, 2016. Jan was born May 15, 1939 to Raymond E. Showell and Edna Saniger Showell in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from East High School. Jan married LaVerl "Tony" Winters and later divorced. They had one son, Byron (Lisa). Jan married Richard "Dick" Tillotson July 3, 1974. They had many happy years together until he passed in 2002. Jan had a long and successful career with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. After retirement, Jan volunteered many hours with the Alzheimer's Association and the Mount Olympus Senior Center. Her most treasured activity was camping and spending time with her grandson Joshua; her best friend. Jan enjoyed cooking and working in her garden. Jan is survived by her grandson Joshua, and nieces Mindy and Nichole. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents Edna and Ray Sr., brother Ray Jr., nephew Todd and her son Byron. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave and N Street.
