Janet (Westring) Wright Stuart

Janet Westring Wright Stuart, 81, completed her earthly mission Monday, February 15, 2021, following a 12-year battle with mantle cell lymphoma. Her prayers and those of her family were answered as she was released peacefully to return with honor to a loving Father in Heaven. She was surrounded by her three daughters at the time of her passing.

Janet was born March 19, 1939 in Payson, Utah to Raymond Theadore (Theo) and Jean Dixon Westring (both deceased). Janet shared her happy childhood in Nephi, Utah, with three siblings: her sisters Renae (deceased husband David Mangelson) and Colleen (deceased husband Harold Allen, current husband Cooper Jones), and her brother Jerry (Sandra) Westring. Many treasured memories were made during countless activities with extended family and gathering for regular Sunday dinner at Grandma Dixon's with all the cousins.

She graduated from Juab High School in May 1957, where she was blessed to find cherished girlfriends that remained close throughout her life, delighting in the many dances, school and church activities.

Janet fell in love with Lynn Larsen Wright, after he returned from his LDS mission. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 27, 1958 and made their home in Nephi, Utah. Their eternal family has been blessed with five children: Lee Lynn (Teh Sook) Wright, Julie Wright (William Leigh), Nathan Todd Wright, Sonya Wright (Ward), and Mareah Wright (Justin Archibald); 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Her family cherishes a lifetime of gathering for delicious homemade meals - made from scratch with love. Mom nourished us with both food and faithful family prayer around that table. She shared her talents and taught us and others how to can fruits and vegetables fresh from the garden.

During some challenging years as Nephi's economy was affected by the new 1-15 freeway, Lynn and Janet moved with their youngest daughters to San Diego, California for a few years, then lived another three years in Moab, Utah. Janet adapted to each obstacle and became part of every community. Many lasting relationships were made during those precious years away from beloved Nephi.

She was an excellent seamstress, well known for her talent. She spent years sewing for her family and made a living sewing for many in the community. She would sew dance recital costumes along with cheerleading and Provita uniforms for Juab High School.

Janet was known for her work ethic and held down multiple jobs throughout her life. She taught her children, by example, the value of work hard. She always had a positive spirit, making work fun. She lifted those around her, encouraging and serving all she met.

Janet was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully accepted every calling extended to her in her ward and stake. She loved the temple. When her hands were not occupied by work they were busy hand-stitching temple aprons for ALL her children and grandchildren.

Janet and Lynn were married for 29 years before his death in August 1987. On September 28, 1991, Janet married Russell Kay Stuart (deceased), for time, in the Manti LDS Temple. They enjoyed 26 happy years together, spending time together and with family, traveling, going to BYU football and basketball games, and being down at the farm. She was blessed with 4 stepchildren: Becky Lynn Stuart (Frank Eliason), Robert Gregory (Glenna) Stuart, Dennis J. Stuart (deceased wife Becky), Janice Stuart (Paul Gregory); 20 step-grandchildren, 39 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren each of whom she loved as her own.

The family would like to thank Cedar City Intermountain Home Health. Special thanks to Drs. Wallentine and Rosenbeck and staff for their loving care throughout the years.
