Janet Glad

Janet died peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born October 19, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clellen and Anna (Nieser) Zabriskie. She was the oldest daughter followed by her sister Gail Glenn.

She was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Andrew C. Glad on May 17, 1956. They were the parents to 3 children.

Janet worked as a part time secretary at the Jordan High School Seminary while raising her children. She later went back to school and received her LPN associate nursing degree, graduating top of her class. She worked in this field with several physicians through the years. She later joined her oldest son in running A&M Tool, Cutter and Grinding. And would be there still if not for her Parkinson’s disease.

She loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as Relief Society President, Young Womens President, and more through the years. She loved serving in the Jordan River and Draper Utah Temples for many years. Her joy was being the Ward Choir Director for 25 years. Music was her greatest love, and she sang with a trio and soloist all over the Salt Lake Valley for years.

She is survived by her 3 children, Robert (Diane) Glad, Steven (Nancy) Glad, and Connie (Lynn) Speters, 10 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and several relatives.

The family would like to thank Patty Cowley for her special ministering service to Mom and the family over several years, but especially the last 5 years.
