James Barron Vealey

James Barron Vealey passed away suddenly on July 22, 2020. He was born January 03, 1947 in Charleston West Virginia to Barron Webster Vealey and Juanita Faye Casdorph Vealey.

As a child he moved from Charleston West Virginia to Salt Lake City with part of his childhood residing in Phoenix Arizona. He attended Highland High School along with West High School where he met his wife Kathleen Carol Adams. They were married March 01, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his Parents Barron Vealey and Juanita Vealey. His Mother in law Ernestina Vigil Matthews, Father in law Glen Matthews and Brother in law Scott Adams.

He worked at Pembroke's Company, Monsen Engineering and was mostly self employed until his retirement due to health issues. He had a love for cars and people. He was easily approachable and was loved by all who knew him. James was a very compassionate person and would do anything for anybody. James and Kathy were like second family to Troy's friends when he was growing up. He will missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beautiful wife Kathleen along with his son Troy wife Paula and three Grandchildren Zoe, Lily and Hayden who he admired and loved dearly. He is also survived by sister Bonita (Bonnie) Vealey.

He was well cared for by Dr. Brent Muhlestein at Intermountain Healthcare who was able to give him 17 more quality years that we may have not had with him. Thank you Brent!!

The family would like to thank Robert, Steve, Ann, Ali, Farhad, Muhammad and the members of the Salt Lake City Police Department who cared for him during his time of need. We would also like to thank his other neighbors Scott, Faye and Karen along with his Brother in law Mark and his wife Mary who always would check in and help him. We are truly grateful .

There will be a Graveside service held Wednesday, August 5th, at 1:00 pm at the Salt Lake City, Cemetery. Burial location is J-17-18-2-Rdwy.
