James Wallace Petersen Jr.

James Wallace Petersen Jr., 81, passed away on March 24, 2022 in Sandy, Utah. He was born on November 20, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James and LaRue Petersen. James married Evelyn on November 20, 1958 in Salt Lake City.

He worked for Burt Explosives and Dyno Nobel for more than 20 years. He was a volunteer fireman for the South Salt Lake and Sandy Fire Departments for over 20 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing and gardening.

James is survived by three children, six grandchildren, and 16-1/2 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one sister.

There will be viewings on Tuesday, March 29 from 6-8 pm and Wednesday, March 30 from 12-12:45 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, with services to follow Wednesday at 1 pm. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
