James “Page” Whetman

James “Page” Whetman

On January 25th, 2023, we said good-bye to Page.

He was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and a friend to many.

Page was born June 11th, 1945 in Murray, Utah to George E. & Leici Page Whetman of Draper, Utah.

On August 29th, 1963 he married his Jordan High School Sweetheart, Linda Johnson.

Page loved cars (especially Fords!). He also loved and enjoyed racing of all kinds, NHRA, NASCAR, and always rooted for whoever was driving a Ford!!

Page grew up in the car business which was started by his Dad and continued on with his Brothers, Phil, Galen, Kent and himself.

In 1985, Page purchased one of the family car lots (8750 So. State St.) and named it Whetman & Whetman Cars and Trucks. He and Marty worked together there for 25 years.

Page is survived by his wife, Linda, son Marty (Susan), daughter Shari (Mike), five beautiful Granddaughters, Bre’ane (Dylan), Shelby (Collin), Presley, Lancee and Ashley, two Great Grandson’s, Nash and Luca and one Great Granddaughter, Kyla, his sister Leica (Tom) Webb, In-laws Marilyn (Jim) Houmand and many beloved Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by his Father, Mother and brothers - Phil, Galen, Kent, sisters - Reta, Glora and Beverly, Sister-in-Laws - Velora, Jean and Mary, Nephew - Mark, Father and Mother-in-Law - Reed and Margaret Johnson, Sisters and Brother-in-Laws - Pete and Nettie, Ned and Bonnie.

Services will be held Monday February 6, 2023 at Goff Mortuary - 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. Visitation 11:00am - 1:00pm, with a Funeral Service at 1:00pm.

Linda would like to give a very special thank you to her dear sister, Marilyn, who has been her confidant, support. best friend and has helped her through good times and bad. Also to her sweet husband, Jim and to her lifelong girlfriends whom she loves and treasures their friendship so much.

The family would also like to thank the Doctor’s, Nurses and Staff at Lone Peak Hospital that took such good care of Page.
