James Ned Graves - Linnebach, our beloved brother, uncle and son passed away August 3rd, 2016. Jim was born November 5th, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ned Graves and Beverly Linnebach. His father Ned passed away when he was young and he was raised and later adopted by Glen A Linnebach. He spent most of his life in Salt Lake City, and lived life on his own terms doing what made him happy.
From a young age he had an affinity for cars and motorcycles and enjoyed spending time working on them. After graduating from Granite High School in 1966 he joined the US Navy and was sent to Hawaii. He continued his focus on mechanics during his time where he became an aircraft turbine expert. When he returned, he worked as a diesel mechanic, built an apartment complex and ran heavy equipment for big contractors. It was no wonder his nephews thought he was the coolest.
Throughout his life he maintained his closest relationships with his mother, brother and sister. He enjoyed coffee with his crew and could be found at the coffee shop almost every morning.
He is survived by his father Glen A Linnebach, sister Sandra Gayle Maylett-Wood, and brother Shawn Michael Linnebach, as well his nieces and nephews - Nikki, Shawn, Glen, Shahara and Sara. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Barbara Jean Graves-Linnebach.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the VA and Sandy Rehab. We will be celebrating Jim's life the way he would have liked. We will be meeting for coffee at Denny's, 7051 South 1300 East, Monday, August 8th from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
