James Alexander Ford, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and proud great-grandfather of Nephi, UT passed away very peacefully on August 16th, 2018.
James was born on March 28th, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas to William Kenneth and Marcella Nadine Ford.
Jim graduated from Arroyo High School in San Leandro, CA in 1959. After graduation, Jim was called to active duty in the US Navy where he served his country from 1958 to 1964. He served in the Navy as a photographers mate. He was stationed with a VP squadron at Barbers Point Naval Air Station Hawaii. He did a tour of duty in Iwakuni, Japan in 1960. After his discharge from the Navy, he settled in Hayward, CA.
Jim worked for the Livermore Unified School district for 25 years. There, he initiated a Disney Day, and the children wore their Disney Best outfits.
Jim married his true love Teri. They were married for 33 years and later sealed in the Mani Temple.
Jim loved many things like customizing his PT Cruiser, his love of music and sound, movie theaters, and lots of popcorn.
He will be remembered for his contagious laughter, smile, generosity, sense of humor, friends, church, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his brothers John and Jan, his children Diane, James, Michael, Elandrea, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Daniel, daughter Christine, son-in-law SSG James G. A. Demontte.
Viewing is on August 22nd at the North Nephi Stake Center at 10:00 am, funeral service to follow at 11:00 am, with graveside service at Vine Bluff Cemetery. There will be a family luncheon afterwards.
