Jack Lee Bowers April 8, 1926 November 3, 2015 Jack Lee Bowers passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 3, 2015 of age related incidents. He was born April 8, 1926 in Garfield, Utah to Harry and Eva Bowers. Jack asked his sweetheart, Barbara Louise Brown of SLC, to marry him after only two dates. They were married in 1947. Together they raised three sons: Jack Earl Bowers, Steven Lynn Bowers, and Larry Jay Bowers. Jack attended Cyprus High School, proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and he worked as a chemist for Kennecott. Jack was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He happily served as membership clerk and faithfully attended his priesthood quorum meetings each week. Jack enjoyed telling never ending stories about his time in the Navy, his work at Kennecott, or his family that he adored. He could make a friend out of anyone that he met. He loved to work with his hands and created works of wooden art. Jack loved music, met lifelong friends while singing in the barbershop chorus, and could always be found whistling a happy tune. Jack and Barbara are some of the last remaining proud representatives of the Greatest Generation. Without men like Jack, we would never have had the opportunity to grow up in the safe and wonderful world that they provided for us. Jacks greatest joys in life were the moments that he was able to spend with his wife and family. He loved his family unconditionally. We would all be better people if we had a bit of Jack in our souls. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Louise Bowers; his three children; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 4232 West 5015 South, Kearns, Utah.
