Irene (Foote) Bosh, 97, died on Friday, June 10, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The eldest of five girls, she was born to Emerson Riley Foote and Harriet LaVera (Jensen) Foote on September 19, 1924, in Nephi, Utah. She attended Juab High School where she was a drummer for the Juab Marching Band and sang in the school musical. Always a hard worker, she worked every night at the local movie theater to help support her family.
At 19 years of age, she packed a suitcase and moved to Salt Lake City to work for American Paper. She was a valuable member of the small firm, and made many lifelong friends and enough money to help buy a first home. She corresponded with her future husband, Farrell Bosh, a friend from high school, during the war, and they married in September, 1946, after his return from Europe.
Irene was an incredible mother to Michelle, LuAnn, and Lisa. She kept an immaculate home, sewed their wardrobes, and cooked gourmet Sunday dinners. She taught in Primary for her church for 35 consecutive years, and volunteered for the PTA in various positions. Enjoying their many friends, Farrell and Irene had a standing dinner date every Saturday night for over 69 years. Most of all, Mom was an endearing confidant with a wise and sympathetic ear to her friends, daughters, and grandchildren.
Through the years, Mom and Dad opened their home to family in times of need. They were wonderful grandparents to Katie, James, Ryan, and Matt. They would have loved to see and meet great grandchildren, Olivia and Charlie. Mom survived all of her sisters, daughter LuAnn, husband Farrell, and most of her friends. We are thankful for Mom’s example of kindness, love and generosity.
The family thanks Avenir Memory Care of Summerlin and granddaughter, Katie, for their kind care this past two years. Irene will be buried at Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1125 North 400 East, Nephi.
