Ingrid Frinee (Chew) Gray

On the outside she appeared to be sleeping, but surely her spirit was dancing that night as she left mortality to finally be free from the illnesses that confined her. Ingrid Frinee Chew was born September 4, 1963 in the small city of Mazatenango, Guatemala to Leon Chew and Blanca Urizar. Her father gave her the name of Chiqui because she was going to be their last child. Chiqui was the second daughter of what became six girls born to this family. When Ingrid was fifteen years old the missionaries taught her the gospel and she was baptized. She had a desire to serve a mission and was called to the Washington D.C. South mission. She believed that while there she would meet a good LDS boy to marry someday. There was one particular missionary, Elder Gray, that caught her eye and after they returned home they started dating and soon became engaged. They were married on May 23, 1992 in the Salt Lake Temple by their former mission president, Philip Sonntag, who said it looked like a missionary reunion. In 1993, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter they named Madison, and in 1998 they brought a lively baby boy into their family that they named Zachary. Ingrid loved her Family and she loved animals. She had been blessed with a creative gift and she produced floral arrangements and craft items that amazed everyone. She was sought after by companies and individuals alike, who wanted her beautiful designs. Ingrid had a particular attachment to her sisters. She could usually be found with one of them shopping at the mall. Her Mother was such a blessing, especially during the past year, as she tirelessly cared for her sick daughter. But when all was said and done�it was her Todd that she wanted to spend time with and who was the one needed to buoy her up during some of her darkest hours. Ingrid had a giving heart and would readily share whatever she had to make others happy. She wasn�t ready to leave her family just yet and her spunk and determination to live amazed the doctors over and over again. Slowly but surely her frail body continued to decline and the Lord was calling her home�home for Christmas. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her Spouse, Todd, and her children, Madison Brown (Bryson) and Zachary Gray. Her Mother, Blanca, and five sisters, Lucy Castro (Paco), Mimi Kent (Chris), Isabel Johnson, Nora Diaz, (Maynor) and Gladys Martinez (Felix) along with her In-laws, Wallace and Diane Gray, Steven Gray, Kim Casey (Kurt) and Angela Wilde. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Te ver� en el cielo mi �ngel de Navidad A viewing will be held Friday, December 15th, from 6 � 8 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 14398 South 6400 West, Herriman, Utah. On Saturday, December 16th, there will be a Family Prayer at the Church, in the Relief Society Room, at 11:45 a.m. prior to the Funeral Service that begins in the chapel at Noon. Burial will be at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park South Valley, 13001 South 3600 West, Riverton, Utah.
