Ilene Park Anderson, 90, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2021. in Nephi, Utah surrounded by her family. She was born on December 4, 1930 in Nephi, Utah to David Ralph Park and Edith Andrews Park. Ilene married Norman Anderson on June 3, 1963 and their marriage was sealed in the Manti Temple on May 21, 1964.
She always placed the highest priority on family. She raised three sons and was passionate in instilling the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. She was a loving and dedicated mother and loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. The devotion that Norman and Ilene had for each other was unwavering and this love was a life-long influence on family. Norman's sons and grandsons affectionately addressed him sometimes as "the old kid", however to Ilene he was always "your Father" or Norman. Ilene taught her family to appreciate music, art, science, history and to seek higher learning.
Ilene had a wonderful career working at the local phone company, bank, and for the Juab School District as a long-time employee in the lunchroom. She saw beauty in nature, which was evident in her yard that she kept full of bright vibrant flowers along with immaculate landscaping. She passed on her love of cooking to her family by always looking for opportunities to bake cookies and bread.
She is survived by her three sons Dale (Rosanna), Douglas, David (Alison), seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, a sister (Dora Jean Cherry) and nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by husband (Norman Anderson), father (David Ralph Park), mother (Edith Andrews Park), brother (Roscoe Park), and granddaughter (Emma Louise Anderson).
Ilene's family will host a public viewing service for friends and family Monday, February 1st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home (94 West 300 North Nephi, Utah), and a family funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 2nd at 11:00 am at the Nephi 5th Ward LDS Chapel (345 East 500 North Nephi, Utah). Interment will be at the Nephi City Cemetery. Please wear a mask and social distance.
