Ila Ranee Painter Peterson

Ila RaNee Painter Peterson, 86 years old, resident of Nephi, Utah passed away September 27, 2022 in Nephi, UT. RaNee was the daughter of Sena Ila Rosequist and Fred LaMont Painter. Bom in Ogden, Utah, RaNee moved to Nephi at age 6 with her parents and only brother James L Painter.

RaNee attended elementary and secondary school in Nephi. She attended Utah State University and studied Secretarial Science and accounting. Her first job after College was Secretary for the President of Cache Valley Bank. She could type, write in shorthand, balance accounts and keep accurate books.

RaNee married Cary George Peterson June 29th, 1956 in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. She and Cary have three surviving children, Michael Cary (Rosalie) of Nephi, Darin Glen (JoEIlen), Tremonton, UT, and Angela Ila (Shand) Rasmusson, Haworth, OK. Cary and ReNee founded Double P Ranch in Nephi, where they built a large cattle, land, and livestock business. She was a worker all of her life.

RaNee was Miss Nephi, a student body officer and very active her whole life in service to community, country, family, friends, and Jesus Christ. Her community and patriotic service included supporting and campaigning for her husband and son's House of Representative and Senate seats, the Delphic Club, Literary Club, Kiwanis Club, election committee, and numerous charitable organizations she supported. Her church service included Stake Relief Society President, twice. Ward Relief Society President, and presidencies, Primary President, and Primary teacher, Young Women's counselor and teacher. She served in the garment center and Bishop's storehouse for many years. RaNee spent her life in the service of her family, her country, her community, the missionary program, and the agriculture industry.

RaNee is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ila Painter, and brother James Painter.

RaNee is survived by her husband Cary, three children, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Also she would like mentioned all her Painter nephews and nieces, Peterson nephews and nieces, and many friends and great neighbors.

Services for RaNee will be held Saturday, October 1st in the Nephi 4th Ward LDS Church, located at 345 East 500 North in Nephi, Utah. A viewing will be from 9 to 11 am, the funeral will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery.
