Born to Russell Emil Allen and Vervene Strong Allen on 2 Oct 1938 in Murray, UT. Married Myrtle Rae Jones on 3 July 1958. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah (13 February 1967). Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and family gatherings. Howard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Young Men's as an Explorer Scout Leader.
Howard served in the National Guard in the 144th Evacuation Hospital unit. During the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and 1962 he was stationed in Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Myrtle Rae Allen, his five children: Deborah (Bill) DeLany, William Reid (Pauline) Allen, Michael Todd Allen, Steven (John) Allen, Karen (Primo) Lopez, his 8 grandchildren: Russell (Mysti) Tiffany, William (Liz) Tiffany, Heather (Andrea) Tiffany, Amanda (Clay) Green, Kevin (Whitney) Allen, Chaylino Barrera, Marcial (Sapo) Barrera, Staci Lyn Allen, 10 great grandchildren: Jeramy Fritz, Ryder Fritz, Xander Tiffany, Wyatt Tiffany, Kelsey Tiffany, Nathan Tiffany, Bailey Acosta, Jayden Acosta, Ashlyn Green and Phoenix Green.
Preceded in death by his parents: Russell and Vervene S Allen, brothers Cal Allen, Harold E Allen (twin), grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Funeral will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Corner Canyon 7th Ward at 13400 S 1300 E, Draper, Utah at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Anderson & Goff Mortuary at 11859 S 700 E, Draper, Utah, and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday, 11:00 am at the Corner Canyon 7th Ward at 13400 S 1300 E, Draper, Utah. Burial will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, Utah.
