Helen Elizabeth Linton White, 85, graduated from this life surrounded by loving family on July 18, 2023. Helen was born August 8, 1937, to James Leonard Linton and Lillian Keturah Bowers Linton. She was the youngest of six children. Helen grew up in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School in 1955. She met Joseph Albert White at a skating rink in Nephi and won his heart. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 26, 1958. They were blessed with five children of their own: Joseph L. white, Jerrel L. (Michele) White, Marla A. (Bart) Sperry, Sally M. White, and Angela E. (Todd) Roundy.
Helen was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many leadership positions. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and the Variette Club. She worked as a CNA, LPN, and later became an Registered Nurse. She worked in several positions at CVMC hospital in Nephi. She spent many years working for Central Valley Home Health and Hospice. Later, Helen was an instrumental volunteer for CVMC. After the loss of her husband, Helen also served as a missionary in Seattle, Washington for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a good friend, Sister Myrna Stanworth.
Helen’s greatest joys were her five children, 21 grandchildren, and 24.5 great-grandchildren. She and her husband also enjoyed raising several Native American foster children and hosted two international exchange students. Every Christmas, she made sure every member of the family had a present. She would even have a present for unexpected guests. We have learned she served many people anonymously. She had a big heart!
Helen and her husband were able to go on many cruises and visit distant lands. They enjoyed evening walks together and fishing, hunting, and camping with the family. She lived a big and fulfilling life. She was a great teacher and example.
Helen is survived by her five children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving sibling of her family and was preceded in death by her husband and two grandsons. The family wishes to thank her Home Health and Hospice caregivers, Gloria Wickle, Christie Marquez, and Julieann Parkin for their compassionate and much appreciated services.
